Ti-Kang Sebastian Chen

I am Sebastian Chen, and my Chinese name is Ti-Kang. I am a fourth-year medical student in Tzu-Chi University, which is located in the east coast of Taiwan. I am going to start my clinical rotation in September. So this summer will be the best chance for me to join the MED program, as I wish to raise my awareness on healthcare issues and explore which kind of doctor I want to become.

In the past four years, I participated in a wide range of voluntary works, including overseas medical missions in the Philippines, volunteering at children's rehabilitation center, and community service in remote aboriginal tribes of eastern Taiwan. And I also joined some of the international conferences during my vacations between semesters. The Asian-Pacific Medical Student Symposium (APMSS) that I took part in January 2015 made a great impact on me, where I participated in the physical examination and clinical English sessions conducted by Professor Ozdalga and Professor Oshimi, to first time get to know how to perform physical examinations and English medical writings. I was also involved in the East-Asian Medical Student Conference 2016 as a group moderator. Currently, I worked in Human Rights department of Federation of Medical Student- Taiwan as a human rights trainer.

I am so blessed to join the family of the MED program, with the kind program stuffs and learned friends from overseas. Let us create unforgettable memories together, which will keep us smiling for decades.
