Cira Ortiz

Cira Ortiz was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and spent most of her life in two worlds: the English-speaking American world and the Spanish-speaking Mexican world. Due to her ability to speak both languages, she served as her mother’s personal translator. Once she went to college, she decided to study a third, and very different language: Japanese. After graduating with a degree in Cognitive Science and a minor in Japanese Language and Literature, she spent 5 years in Fukuoka, Japan under the JET Programme hoping to use her new knowledge on language acquisition. After returning to Los Angeles, Cira decided to change career paths and so studied International Business at Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. Now she is excited to be part of the VIA team and support the 2016 MED Program. She is currently looking for her next adventure in Los Angeles along the lines of Localization Management. In her free time she enjoys reading, sharing scary stories and baking.
