Darren Sanchez
Darren is a graduating senior at Stanford University majoring in Biology and East Asian Studies. He has been involved in various research labs throughout his education: from a biochemistry lab on cell cycle research to ecological field studies on the coevolution of acorns and their predators. In addition to his science background, Darren has rigorously pursued the study of Japanese culture. He attended Stanford study abroad program in Kyoto for six months where he had the opportunity to work in the children's ward at the Kyoto University Hospital, organize excursions throughout the city with his classmates and local Japanese students, and visit both Korea and Taiwan for a week.
In his spare time he likes to play racquetball, swim, and attend concerts. As a coordinator, he is very excited to share his passion for cross-cultural studies with the incoming students.
