Dr. Madeline Deutsch

Madeline B. Deutsch, MD MPH is a Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Family & Communi- ty Medicine at UCSF. She is the Director of Clincial Services at the UCSF Center of Excellence for Transgender Health, where she has been involved in numerous national and in- ternational clinical capacity building projects, has had a lead role in the development of transgender treatment protocols, and has studied the use of electronic medical records in transgender care. Dr. Deutsch is certified as an HIV care expert by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. She is currently piloting the use of telehealth technology to provide gender affirming hormone therapy to patients located remote to the Bay Area.

Dr. Deutsch received her undergraduate degree in computer science from Binghamton University - State University of New York (SUNY) in 1994, her MD from Rosalind Frank- lin University - Chicago Medical School in 2001, completed a residency at Harbor-UC- LA Medical Center in 2004, an MPH in community health sciences from UCLA in 2015.
